Our Vision
Throughout 2020 as a church we spent time praying and seeking God's heart. We asked God what He wanted us to do and who He wanted us to become. We asked God to complete the sentence, 'St Peter's exists to...'
And we believe God has spoken. We are so excited to share our new vision for the next 5 years.
Our mission is to Love God and Love Loudwater. Our vision is to demonstrate the love of Jesus by being a source of spiritual hope, practical help and authentic community. We have identified
5 Ministry Priorities where we believe God has called us to invest in and we are excited to see growth in these five areas!
Our Values
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES LOVING FAMILY
“Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Matt 12:48-50
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES EXPECTANT PRAYER
Jesus taught his disciples a simple prayer. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matt 6:9-10
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES GENEROUS GIVING
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt 6:19-21
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES HUMBLE SERVICE
At the last supper, Jesus - in an extraordinary act of humble service - washes his disciples feet and says. “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:14-15
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES COURAGEOUS MISSION
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES DETERMINED DISCIPLESHIP
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.“ Matt 11:28-30
WE WILL BE A CHURCH THAT VALUES PASSIONATE WORSHIP
A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. Luke 7:37-38
